Welcome to The Stay Home Daughter

My name is Samantha, and I'm a 23-year-old who still lives with her parents. (Is it just me or does this sound like the start of a self-help book?)

During COVID-19, I quarantined with my family in Atlanta, GA, and with access to my mom’s fabulous kitchen (so much better than my tiny apartment kitchen), I started cooking and baking up a storm. I graduated from The University of Georgia in May 2020 and found myself with too much free time while I worked from home.

After months of staying home, I began longing for the time when it would be safe to have guests over and entertain. As the days slowly dragged by with each day feeling like the last, I finally decided, screw it, and started using the “good” stuff for every day. No longer do you have to wait for company to pull out the silver trays and crystal, but instead can incorporate elegance into the everyday.

I started this blog to document my attempts at cooking and entertaining as we enter a new “normal” post-quarantine. So, let’s stay home and stay safe, celebrating the everyday.

Thanks for reading!
